As you go to sleep i have heard that you need to focus on nothing but the sounds and sights that you see and hear as you go to sleep( i am trying to see and hear hypnogogic imagery). But while i find it easy to get comfortable in my bed i find it hard to get to full body mind relaxation mode.

We have a natural sleep cycle and the best time to LD is very early morning. So I suggest to set an alarm clock to wake you up at 6am and then go back to sleep. You don't even need to focus on anything special, but your chances of LD are way higher during that time. You still need to have dreams and learn to snap out of dream state and into lucid dream states. Do awareness exercises, meditate on dreams, write down your dreams and use a recurrent thing in your dream as a lucid dream trigger. It takes time, but it's totally possible to get there.
