Hello everyone.

Postby astralzombie » August 30th, 2013, 3:28 pm

Hi guys and gals. I met Jettins on a different forum and I have come to really like his ideas and theories. He also likes to discuss his projections which many people do not. I understand why they feel this way but there's not much left in me that cares if other people think I am crazy for my beliefs.

I have had too many validations and experiences that it has become crazier for me to deny them than it is to just accept that something wonderful and exciting is happening.

My first OOBE happened over 13 years ago and I still remember every aspect of it like it was yesterday. It was spontaneous and scared the bejeezus out of me. I was in the middle of a regular dream when I suddenly rolled "out" of my body onto the floor and saw myself still laying on the couch asleep. I didn't see anything scary but my belief system at the time told me that the only way this experience was possible was if I had died. That's exactly what I believed for the entire time of the experience.

I cried, prayed, begged for forgiveness and all that jazz. I was a true believer in Jesus then. I was and still am a genuinely good person at heart so when no angel came to escort me to heaven, I began to panic even more believing that there was only one other alternative...hell. It's ironic that immense fear and terror can end an OOBE induced intentionally almost immediately but it seems to be no match for a spontaneous OOBE.

I can't even begin to explain to someone how much it hurt feeling that I was rejected by heaven and knowing that hell was the only place left. After an eternity, I finally tried to get back "in" to my body by lying on it and perceiving to wiggle myself back in. I woke up to a pillow that was soaked by my tears.

I redoubled my Christian efforts out of guilt and shame for doubting that I was saved but I had my second spontaneous OOBE about a month later. This was basically a repeat of the emotions and realizations except this time, I got angry as well. I felt that I did not deserve these episodes of extreme fear and pain became determined to understand what was happening. That's been my goal and journey now for 13 years.

So that's my intro and I look forward to hearing about your experiences and ideas. :)

EDIT: I just wanted to explain that my LD/AP count was just a best guess estimate. I would have to say that less than half of that number would represent the amount of meaningful experiences in which I can recall learning something specific or addressed a particular concern or question that I had. I have about 10 journals that I have written some of my favorite experiences in over the years so I do not mean to imply that I have a great memory. I often project with trying to learn or gain some perspective on something specific. If I have a lucid dream or project unintentionally then it is just a crazy ride that ends up being just fun and entertainment more than a lesson. Then again, there is a lesson in everything I suppose.

Astralzombie,

Amazing story, thanks for sharing. If more people had a mind like yours, a mind that wishes to understand things empirically, there wouldn't be so much confusion.

I am glad you made it to the forum! I don't doubt that the regular visitors will appreciate your perspective.

You are welcomed to resurrect any older post if you feel something was left out.

Thank you Jettins.

I just wanted to explain something real quick in case I offended anyone with my beliefs. I am no longer a Christian in the sense of organized religion but I firmly believe that Jesus was a real being that spent a short amount of time here trying to wake people up by spreading some of the most important messages ever.

Jesus is still very important to me but I just view him a little differently that organized Christianity says I should. :)

I very much respect the teachings of Jesus Christ and his followers. However, I also think that if Jesus was alive today he would encourage people to explore their inner life through dreams.

I would do errands for Jesus and other advanced spiritual being if they were to allow me the opportunity. I think they are well aware of it.

You reminded me of experience #945 - Visiting my grandmother - "In the name of Jesus Christ everything is going to be alright"

Welcome to the forum! I guess I'm also another person here who places importance on the teachings of Jesus but does not believe in the Christian religion.
I hope to hear all about your astral experiences. =)

Thanks for the welcomes.

Yeah, I do plan on sticking around. I wanted a place that likes to talk about actual experiences and not just the mechanics behind it, though I like to talk about that as well.

It took me less than a month to have my fist AP intentionally. I give the credit to my "knowing" that the OOBE was very real since I had already done it twice without trying.

That's another thing. I believe in the objectiveness of the experience. In other words, I believe that I am going to other "realities" that are physical and real for other beings but I am just there as consciousness or spirit. So I don't believe that I am just having some awesome dreams on steroids.

I can either phase out consciously aware or project from a dream. I do not value one over the other. Both ways are fine and get you "there" just the same.

I never considered myself to be a mediator but that's just because I was ignorant to what meditation was. I always pictured somebody sitting down with legs crossed and palms up, saying "OHMMMM, OHMMM".

Mediation is important because it allows you to recognize when you are in a different state of consciousness. I wholeheartedly believe that many people have failed at projecting because they could not recognize that they were already there.

Another thing that I do, is that I will not watch t.v. for at least an hour before I want to project. The bluelight from t.v. and computer screens is like kryptonite to a projection, at least it is for me.

During this hour of no t.v., I read. Reading is a great primer for our visualization skills. Think of it as getting to see the answers before a test. You won't remember all the answers but you'll recall enough to pass. I can't tell you how many times I have projected right into a scenario of the book that I was reading. On more that one occasion, I got to watch the whole book play out like a movie. The first time this happened, I was stunned when I skimmed over the parts that I hadn't read yet only to find out that it was just like my projection.

That is a major validation to me as I'm sure science can't explain it other than to say that I'm a liar or I'm crazy.

Other than that, I'm sure that whatever technique I am using is very similar to yours'. It's just that I had the advantage of having two very real and scary OOBE spontaneously that left no doubt in my mind that this was real.
